The Copenhagen Royal Boys’ Choir is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year – it was founded in 1924 by Mogens Veldike. The choir has an extensive concert life not only in Denmark, but also concert tours all over the world. In addition, the choir regularly collaborates with orchestras, e.g. DR Symphony Orchestra, Copenhagen Phil and Camerata Øresund.

The invested work and the high artistic level have ensured the visit of many guest conductors; these have included Benjamin Britten, Raphael Kubelik, Sir Andrew Davies and Paul McCreesh. Prominent Scandinavian composers Paul Ruders, Per Nergaard, Knut Nystedt, Sven David Sandström and Palle Mikkelborg have created pieces especially for the Royal Copenhagen Boys’ Choir.

Since 2020, the artistic director of the choir is Karsten Seiers-Hansen, he is also a teacher at the Royal Academy of Music and the artistic director of the award-winning vocal group “Concert Clemens”. The Copenhagen Royal Boys’ Choir is associated with both the Copenhagen Cathedral or the Church of the Holy Mother of God, and the vocal school of the Copenhagen Municipality – St. Anne’s Gymnasium, where students learn professional singing.

The Riga Cathedral Boys’ Choir was founded in 1950, performing regularly not only in the leading concert halls and churches of Latvia, but also in many, many countries around the world. The choir has performed in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Norway, America, Canada, Japan and elsewhere.
