Is Tuchel coming now?
Manchester United in low despite cup final
Manchester United are in the FA Cup final. Nevertheless, the record champions are in crisis mode and a change of coach is looming in the summer. And a player’s celebration causes red heads.

Manchester United will move into the FA Cup final on Sunday. But there isn’t really much joy about it. Because the Red Devils beat the second division team Coventry City with a bang in the penalty shootout.
Previously, United lost a comfortable 3-0 lead against the surprise team within 20 minutes and was saved by VAR in injury time of extra time when Coventry’s supposed 4-3 winning goal was conceded due to a very thin offside position. United escaped into a penalty shootout and won 4-2.
Antony with cheering excitement
Instead of huge celebrations after the last penalty, even the United stars seemed a little ashamed and were only cautiously happy. Former United star Roy Keane (52) said to ITV: “I can understand the players’ reaction. They were ashamed for moving forward at all. They should do that too. The fans felt the same way. All in all, it was embarrassing.”

Only United’s million-dollar transfer Antony (24) caused emotions. While his teammates comforted their defeated opponents, the Brazilian turned towards the Coventry player and provocatively held his hands to his ears. The former Premier League player Gabriel Agbonlahor (37) then called Antony on X the “most shameless failure that has ever appeared in our league”.

Historically bad season
Manchester United will now face city rivals Manchester City in the final of the FA Cup. This derby took place in the final last year, when City won 2-1. This year the Red Devils want to somehow save their season with a win in the country’s most important cup competition.
In the Premier League, United are only in 7th place and are in danger of missing out on European business completely. They have already conceded 74 goals across all seasons, the most in a season since 1978/79.
Thomas Tuchel approaching?
These are statistics that are likely to cost coach Erik ten Hag (54) his job in the summer. BBC expert and former professional Alan Shearer (53) suspects that the decision to part ways with the Dutchman has already been made. Even winning the FA Cup wouldn’t help him anymore.
A hot trail leads to Germany for ten Hag’s successor. As “Kicker” reports, United co-owner James Ratcliffe (71) – also an investor in Lausanne-Sport through his company Ineos – has already contacted the management of Thomas Tuchel (50). The current Bayern coach will leave Munich in the summer and has not yet found a new club. It is quite possible that he will soon start at Old Trafford.
