The chaos is over!
Less than two days before kick-off it is now known whether Schalke Guest performance near Osnabrück (Saturday/1 p.m.) can take place or has to be postponed. The press conference with coach Karel Geraerts (42) scheduled for Thursday at 1:30 p.m. has already been canceled.

The statement continued: “A very short-term relocation of the game to another stadium on the original game date was not possible, among other things, due to association regulations. According to § 2 No. 2 Para. 2 of the DFL eV game rules guidelines, any change to the game date, kick-off time or venue must be announced to the clubs involved at least four days in advance.”
Is this move fair for Schalke?

Exciting: Schalke actually demanded that the game take place this weekend. But Osnabrück obviously didn’t want that. The Royal Blues said: “A tournament this weekend (May 4th/5th), as Schalke’s number one priority is communicated, would have been feasible from S04’s point of view. The board is aware that at least one neutral third stadium that meets the set criteria had already signaled a fundamental willingness to host the game with fans this weekend on Wednesday (May 1st).”
And further: “The prerequisite for this was the consent of both clubs. However, VfL Osnabrück, the host of the match, refused to hold the game at another location this weekend for various reasons. An appointment against the will of Lower Saxony would mean legal risks, which the German Football League (DFL) had to take into account in its decision and which are understandable for S04 in terms of content.
