One Victim of ATR 42-500 Crash Identified as KKP Employee
The forensic medical team has identified the first victim of the ATR 42-500 aircraft crash near Mount Bulusaraung in Pangkep Regency, South Sulawesi. The victim has been identified as Deden Maulana, an employee of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP).
According to detikSulsel, the body was placed in a coffin in the presence of family members at the South Sulawesi Police Forensic Installation (Biddokkes) on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.The coffin was labeled with the postmortem number 62.B.02 and the name Deden Maulana.
Deden’s wife, Vera, received the body. She was wearing a cream-colored hijab and niqab.
The Biddokkes team of the south Sulawesi Police has not yet released an official statement. They plan to provide a more detailed explanation regarding the identification of Deden’s body on Thursday, January 22nd.
“Just tomorrow,” said a member of the Biddokkes team.
To date, a total of three bodies have been recovered from the ATR 42-500 crash site. Along with Deden Maulana, one victim has been identified as flight attendant Florencia Lolita Wibisono, while one other body remains unidentified.
