Druskininkai’s Snow Arena Complex Now Features a Brand-New 12-Story Hotel Just Steps Away – First of Its Kind in Lithuania

Druskininkai, Lithuania – A recent 12-storey hotel has opened just 25 centimetres from the Snow Arena indoor ski slope in Druskininkai, marking what developers describe as the closest proximity between a newly constructed high-rise building and an existing structure in Lithuanian history.

The Snow Hotel Druskininkai, operated by UAB “Druskininkų sveikatinimo ir poilsio centro AQUA”, officially opened its doors following a 16-month reconstruction project on the Snow Arena territory. The hotel is positioned as a natural extension of the Snow Arena infrastructure, aiming to allow guests to conveniently combine sport, relaxation, and entertainment in one location.

According to Aivaras Kadziauskas, head of Snow Arena, the demand for accommodation directly at the arena’s territory had been expressed since the beginning of operations. “We heard and felt the need for the possibility to stay at the arena’s territory from the very start of operations, and today we are pleased to have fulfilled it,” he stated in a press release distributed to local media.

The hotel features modern facilities designed to meet the needs of professional athletes and active leisure enthusiasts, while too offering panoramic views of the surrounding forests and mountain peaks for tourists seeking distinctive scenery. Accommodation options include double, triple, and quadruple rooms, as well as apartments, with some rooms adapted for guests with reduced mobility.

Tadas Grincevičius, head of the construction company Naresta which carried out the project, emphasized the technical complexity of the build. He noted that the project is the first in Lithuania where a new high-rise building was erected so close to an existing structure, with the distance between buildings measuring less than 25 centimetres. “This small distance requires an extremely high level of precision throughout all construction processes,” Grincevičius said.

The Snow Arena itself is described as the only year-round indoor ski slope in the Baltic States. The reconstruction works, which included the hotel construction, were completed as planned after 16 months. The developer stated that the nearby territory, spanning approximately 8 hectares, now hosts the new hotel alongside the existing arena facilities.

While the hotel does not include a swimming pool or SPA centre according to booking platform listings, it offers seasonal packages combining winter sports at Snow Arena with summer water park activities. Guests can also opt for combined winter-summer packages that include access to both the ski slope and the aqua park attractions.

Contact information for the hotel includes a registration desk phone number of +370 313 41004 and email address [email protected]. For sports group reservations, inquiries should be directed to [email protected]. The hotel is located at Snow Arena, Nemuno kelias 2, Mizarų kaimas, LT-67308 Druskininkų savivaldybė.

The project was developed by UAB “Druskininkų sveikatinimo ir poilsio centro AQUA”, with legal and financial details registered under company code 300076944 and VAT payer code LT100001786717. The company’s registered address is Vilniaus al. 13-1, LT-66119 Druskininkai.

Officials involved in the project highlighted the team’s decades of experience in constructing leisure, recreation, and sports facilities, noting a focus on integrating modern technologies and sustainability goals. They described the Druskininkai project as not being their first of this type, referencing prior experience in creating uniquely designed interiors that stand out in the market, particularly in relation to water park-adjacent hotels.

The opening of the Snow Hotel Druskininkai adds to the growing appeal of Druskininkai as a year-round tourism destination, combining sports training opportunities with leisure offerings. Industry observers note that the tight integration of accommodation with sports infrastructure may set a precedent for future developments in the region.

As of the date of this report, no further expansion plans for the Snow Arena territory have been publicly announced by the operating company. Visitors seeking official updates on facilities, booking availability, or seasonal programmes are advised to consult the hotel’s direct communication channels or the Snow Arena website.
