According to official figures released by the Ministry of Education, the general pass rate for the new academic system reached 75.1%, while the pass rate for the old system stood at 72.1%. A total of 883,690 students applied for the first-round examinations under the new system, with 825,867 students attending and 620,314 successfully passing. For the old system, 4,172 candidates applied, of whom 3,620 attended and 2,610 passed.
Pass Rates Across Academic Tracks
Performance metrics varied across the different academic divisions within the new and old systems, with the scientific-mathematics track recording the highest success rate among the three main branches under the new framework at 81.6%, according to reports from Mobtada.

Under the new educational system, the pass rates for specific tracks were documented as follows:
- Scientific Mathematics (New System): 145,459 students applied, 139,302 attended, and 113,651 passed, yielding an 81.6% pass rate.

- Literary Branch (New System): 195,111 students applied, 179,150 attended, and 123,943 passed, achieving a 69.2% pass rate.
Under the old educational system, the recorded statistics included:
- Scientific Science (Old System): 2,506 candidates applied, 2,118 attended, and 1,578 passed, achieving a 74.5% pass rate.
- Scientific Mathematics (Old System): 513 candidates applied, 427 attended, and 307 passed, representing a 71.9% pass rate.
- Literary Branch (Old System): 1,153 candidates applied, 1,075 attended, and 725 passed, marking a 67.4% pass rate.
Top Performing Students and Governorates
The Ministry of Education released the official rankings for the top-performing students across the republic. In the scientific-mathematics division (new system), top achievers included Hassanah Amr Saad Ahmed Mahrous from Al-Hawamdiya Girls Secondary School taking first place with a score of 319.5, followed by Mohab Mohamed Youssef Hussein from Qoba Language Private Secondary School in second place with 319.5 points.

In Alexandria Governorate, regional statistics showed overall pass rates of 75.1% for the new system and 72.1% for the old system. Local high achievers recognized in Alexandria included Saif Eldin Wassim Mosaad Hassan, who secured eighth place nationally in the scientific-mathematics division with a score of 318.5 from Al-Liwa Mohamed Nagib Official Language School in Agamy, and Yara Ayman Ahmed Mohamed, who earned tenth place in the literary branches with 316 points from Alex School in Agamy.
System Differences and University Coordination
Educational authorities noted structural differences between the old and new Thanaweya Amma frameworks. The maximum possible score under the new system is 320 total marks, whereas the old system reaches a total of 410 marks. Certain subjects, such as philosophy, logic, psychology, and second foreign languages, factored into the old system’s aggregate score, while under the new system, the second foreign language serves strictly as a pass-or-fail requirement and is excluded from total calculations. Additionally, geology constitutes a core subject in the old framework but is absent from the new curriculum.
Preliminary indicators suggested that no student under the new system achieved the absolute maximum score of 320 points. Officials confirmed that the university admission coordination office will account for these structural variations between the old and new systems to preserve fairness during the upcoming university enrollment process.
