Eleven people missing after heavy rains in South China –

The heavy rains that fell in recent days in several regions of southern China caused the disappearance of eleven people and several displaced people, the Guangdong Emergency Management department reported this Monday, 22nd.

Search and rescue operations continue in the affected areas, including the provincial capital, Guangzhou, and other cities.

The rains forced the displacement of more than 53 thousand people, of which 12,256 had to be urgently relocated.

Authorities say that the strong floods caused rivers in the region to rise, with 38 hydrological stations in 24 rivers in the province recording water levels above the alert threshold.

More than 200 workers from the sanitation sector were deployed to clean the streets, sewers and canals.
