“I am super happy and satisfied; it’s my first win in a Smash main draw,” Stina Källberg said following her victory. “I knew beforehand that it would be tough, but I think I served well and was creative, which made it difficult for her. When it turned into rallies, I was mostly stubborn.”
On the men’s side, Anton Källberg matched his sister’s success during the evening session in Baltiska hallen, defeating Russia’s Vladimir Sidorenko in straight sets.
“Very happy with my match, feels like it’s the best match I’ve played in a long time and it was a lot of fun to start the tournament and do it that way,” Anton Källberg noted. “I take it with me with good self-confidence for the next round against the kinesen. I hope to continue playing like I did today.”
