Following the success of the critically acclaimed HBO series The Last of UsAmazon aims with Fallout also on a prestigious film adaptation of a popular video game series. Game adaptations had a poor reputation for years, because film and series versions of popular games were often very mediocre. But now that streaming services are investing more money and time in film adaptations, the results are increasingly turning out well.

That is in the case of Fallout no different, because Amazon has also made seemingly endless resources available to make this film adaptation a success. The series looks beautiful (full of beautiful landscapes and grimy towns), and the cast is more than excellent (with numerous well-known guest stars, and in addition to the great Purnell and Goggins, there is also a strong leading role for Aaron Moten as a young soldier from a sinister military organization).

But what Fallout what makes it a success, even for viewers who never played the games, is the humor. Where a series like The Last of Us was often a somewhat serious matter Fallout wonderfully light-hearted, where even violent (and bloody!) situations are approached confidently and comically. Of course it’s no fun wandering around in a post-apocalyptic world, but… Fallout That may look a bit funny.

With game films, the question is always whether they can also appeal to avid gamers, but Fallout In any case, it is very successful as a series.
