Tyla canceled her upcoming world tour on Friday. The South African singer was due to start a series of performances in Europe and North America later this month, but after advice from doctors she has decided not to go ahead.
“I have visited doctors and specialists, but the pain has only gotten worse,” the singer wrote on Instagram. “After consultation with medical professionals, it became clear that continuing my tour would jeopardize my long-term health.” She does not report what type of injury it is.
The singer also had a performance in the Netherlands on her agenda. She would give a show at the Melkweg in Amsterdam on March 30.
Tyla won the Grammy for Best African Music Performance earlier this year. The singer previously scored hits with the songs Water in Truth or Dare. Her first album Silence will be released later this month.
