Lewis Hamilton’s relationship with Ferrari, which has lasted for years, could be about to become official. According to Spanish newspaper AS, Hamilton is expected to leave Mercedes at the end of the 2024 season, even though he has a contract until 2025.
According to the international press, his transfer to Ferrari is practically closed, with just a few details left to be worked out.
Hamilton’s place at Ferrari would be Carlos Sainz. Charles Leclerc recently renewed with the Italian team, and the Spaniard would be responsible for making way for the Briton, who is looking to win his eighth world title in Formula 1 at the wheel of a red car.
If the transfer is completed, it will be one of the most important of the decade in the highest category of motorsport. Hamilton will start his 12th season at Mercedes in 2024.
