YoConecto Program Empowers Citizens with Digital Skills

A new initiative, YoConecto, is helping residents of all ages gain essential digital skills to improve their lives and opportunities in employment, education, entrepreneurship, and social participation. The program offers training in areas such as basic digital literacy, safe internet practices, online dialog, electronic governance, digital banking, online business advancement, digital CV creation, online job searching, digital marketing, social media, and accessing online resources for leisure, health, and learning.

Comprehensive Training for All Levels

YoConecto goes beyond simply teaching how to use technology; it aims to foster understanding and empower individuals to leverage digital tools for personal and professional growth. Courses are offered in accessible locations, thanks to the support of local councils, educational centers, and other local organizations, ensuring a community-based learning surroundings.

The program emphasizes a practical, “learning by doing” approach, with content based on real-life scenarios and a focus on the safe and efficient use of digital tools to address current challenges. Training is tailored to the specific needs of participants, both in terms of content and learning dynamics.

Targeted Programs for Different Age Groups

The program caters to two primary demographics:

  • adults (18-59 years): Training focuses on strengthening digital skills for daily life, work, and social engagement.
  • Seniors (60+ years): Content is adapted to their learning pace, with an emphasis on digital autonomy, online safety, and practical tools for everyday living.

YoConecto is an initiative led by Fundación Cibervoluntarios, a Spanish NGO pioneering technological volunteering. It is part of the generación D initiative by Red.es, the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function. The program is funded by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan through the Next Generation EU funds of the European Union.
