Government of Boyacá prioritizes projects for the well-being of the U’wa community

With the firm commitment to listening to the needs of each community, the Boyacá Grande government finalized the consultation tables of the Departmental Development Plan 2024-2027, with the President and the Board of Directors of the Association of Traditional Authorities and U’wa Councils (ASOU ‘WA).

The objective of the table was to socialize the Departmental Development Plan 2024-2027 ‘Our great plan is Boyacá’ and to specify actions for the four-year period such as:

– Adaptation of educational infrastructure and sports venues.
– Social and care infrastructure.
– Adaptation and interconnection of ancestral paths.
– Strengthening health infrastructure.
– Strengthening public services.

“For the U’wa we feel great affection, respect and admiration. With a lot of collaborative work and commitment we will bring them well-being,” said Governor Carlos Amaya.

Projects will be prioritized through the General Royalty System. Additionally, agreements were reached regarding the Public Policy of Indigenous Communities
