Kochi: The High Court has stopped the arrest of Soubin Shahir and Shawn Antony, the producers of the movie ‘Manjummal Boys’ in the fraud case. The court ordered that they should not be arrested till the 22nd of this month. The bank account of the producer Parava Films had been frozen earlier. Ernakulam Maradu Police registered a case against the producers as per the instructions of Ernakulam 1st Class Magistrate Court.

The action of the court was based on the complaint of Siraj, a native of Arur, who participated in the production of the film by paying money. The case has been filed on charges of criminal conspiracy, breach of trust and forgery. The complaint is that neither the money spent on the film nor the profit was returned.

Siraj, the complainant, says that he has spent 7 crore rupees for the production of the film. The money was invested through Parava Films, a Kadavantra-based company owned by Shawn Anthony. He had also said that the money was demanded by promising the investment and dividend. Siraj also alleges that the actual production cost of the film was hidden from him.
