Helen Siff, a remarkably versatile character actress whose face graced both the big adn small screens for over five decades, has passed away at the age of 88. She died Thursday in Los Angeles following complications from surgery related to a long-term illness, her family announced.
Siff’s career was a testament to dedication and a genuine love for the craft, leaving an indelible mark on countless productions. You likely recognize her from memorable roles in popular shows like Modern Family and Will & Grace, as well as the Coen Brothers’ acclaimed film Hail, Caesar!.
A Career Spanning Generations
Her journey in acting began in 1981 with a guest appearance on the drama Lou Grant. Following this, she steadily built a robust resume, showcasing her talent across a diverse range of projects.

She is survived by her sisters Carol and Janet, her son Matt, and daughters Susie, Karen, Vicki, and Jenny – including Jenny, a Hollywood script supervisor. Additionally, she leaves behind seven grandchildren: Chelsea, Zach, Robert, Josh, spencer, Megan, and Dean.
