They say that they couldn’t come, but when they gained courage, they started chanting slogans. It is true that Navalna’s relatives are buried only by his parents, his wife cannot say goodbye to her children – she did not come to the funeral from abroad.

More about this in the TV3 news report.

Crowds of people begin to gather at a small church on the outskirts of Moscow about three hours before the farewell mass for Alexei Navalny, the greatest enemy of V. Putin, who was killed in a colony in the Arctic.

And although V. Putin sends squads of riot policemen and dozens of militia cars to both the church and the cemetery, into which the Russians will probably rush later, and security officers watch the people coming to the funeral from the roofs of their houses, the ranks of Russians who want to pay their respects to A. Navalny are only growing.

Finally, it stretches for more than two kilometers. These Russians were not afraid of V. Putin’s repressions and say that they simply could not not come, and feel as if they are burying Russia today:

“It is not allowed not to come. Many remember, many know. Unable to mute…”

“We came from another city, from Petrozavodsk, to honor the memory, to say goodbye to a person who, one might say, gave his life for us. It’s a very sad day, but it’s nice to see so many people. We understand that all is not lost, and we will not give up.”

The threats began

Before the mass has even started, Putin’s henchman D. Peskov threatens thousands of Russians gathered at the church. They say that those who participate in unauthorized actions will answer.

However, A. Navalny’s spirit lives there:

“He wasn’t afraid and he told us not to be.”

“You were afraid to come today?” – No, not at all. No amount of fear can replace the grief of losing this person.”

And V. Putin’s regime proves once again how pathetic it is, even on the day of A. Navalny’s funeral. They make the oppositionist’s relatives wait until the morgue gives them the body of Navalny.

They check the documents of the mourners, disrupt the communication, and finally, at the last minute, spread the news that today the Borisov cemetery, where A. Navalny will be buried, will be closed to the public.

Navalny’s name was called

However, the Russians who are taking the test of resistance to V. Putin today are not going home. And he doesn’t keep silent, but loudly chants the name of his murdered hero when the hearse brings his remains to the church. By the way, it was very difficult for relatives to find a place for A. Navalno’s funeral, as well as a hearse.

The scene when A. Navalny’s coffin is carried to the church surrounded by metal barricades is also paradoxical, with only a few relatives of the Kremlin critic in its yard, among them – mother and father – and a crowd of those whom V. Putin does not allow to say goodbye to A. Navalny properly.

And they send such forces to suppress peaceful Russians. However, no matter how many officials try to suppress those gathered there, the Russians finally take heart and start chanting about a Russia without V. Putin and that their country will be free.

The price of such freedom is enormous. The price of that freedom is Putin’s greatest enemy lying in a coffin.

And the pain of parents when they have to bury their son. For which people thank them. By the way, A. Navalno’s wife Julia and their children – 23-year-old Darija and fifteen-year-old Zakhar – do not have the opportunity to say goodbye to their husband and father. They live abroad and would probably never leave Russia again.
