Find Support adn Connection: Holyoke Medical center’s Cancer support Group
For individuals and families navigating the challenges of cancer, finding a supportive community can make a meaningful difference. Holyoke Medical Center is offering a Cancer Support Group throughout 2026,providing a safe and welcoming space for patients,survivors,families,and caregivers to connect,share experiences,and receive encouragement.
The support group will meet on the second thursday of most months from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the Fran Como Conference Room at Holyoke Medical Center, located at 575 Beech St., Holyoke. Scheduled meeting dates include March 12, April 9, May 14, July 9, August 13, September 10, october 8, and November 12.
This group, facilitated by oncology social worker james Haskins, fosters an environment where members feel heard, understood, and accepted. “Support groups are a safe place to talk about emotions and challenging subjects,” explains haskins. “Our group members have developed a community through shared experiences and feelings, creating a welcoming space for others.”
Beyond emotional support, the Holyoke Medical Center Cancer Support group provides a light meal, educational resources, and engaging activities. Participants are encouraged to contribute feedback through surveys at each meeting,helping to shape future discussions and ensure the group continues to meet the evolving needs of its members.
