Giorgio Armani will turn 90 on July 11th. It is inevitable for the King to comment on Bloomberg on the many options for the succession.

«What has always characterized the success of my work is the ability to adapt to changing times, at the moment I do not foresee an acquisition by a luxury conglomerate. But, as I said, I don’t want to exclude anything a priori, because that would be an unentrepreneurial way of acting.”

A stock market listing is not ruled out: «The IPO is something we have not yet discussed, but it is an option that could be taken into consideration, hopefully in the distant future».

At the moment of succession, everything is in the hands of the Foundation founded 18 years ago: «The foundation will decide and govern the future of the group, because the people closest to me are at the helm. Independence is one of the founding values of everything I have created and certainly the one that I have guarded with the most tenacity, to the point of obstinacy I think that independence from large groups could still be a driving value for the group in the future, but not I exclude nothing.”

Giorgio Armani’s words are reported by Corriere della Sera.
