Immigration enforcement operations in Hallandale Beach, Florida, drew intense local scrutiny after a resident reported witnessing an aggressive vehicular pursuit involving unmarked law enforcement vehicles and three men running near a local racetrack. According to accounts shared with Spanish-language news media, the incident left one man injured after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to scale a fence.
Julio Rondon told N+ Univision that he initially realized something was wrong when he heard shouts coming from outside his residence. When he went out to check on the commotion, he observed three men running as multiple unmarked vehicles pursued them. Rondon noted that the three individuals worked at a racetrack located directly across the street from the neighborhood.
Vehicular Impact and Detention of Fleeing Workers
The witness detailed that one of the fleeing men was struck by one of the pursuit vehicles. Despite the impact, the man continued running before attempting to vault a fence, at which point a vehicle struck him a second time. Rondon described believing that the man had suffered a broken leg and observed him holding his ribs as federal agents lifted and detained him.

The situation escalated after Rondon finished recording the encounter on his phone. He stated that one of the agents approached him and issued a direct warning, telling him they were going to arrest him. When Rondon asked why he would be detained and pointed out that he is a United States citizen, the agent asserted that he was interfering with federal operations.
Beyond the specific pursuit, Rondon raised broader community worries regarding the heavy presence of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel in the area in recent weeks. According to his account, agents have increasingly been knocking on doors and directly confronting local residents, sparking unease throughout the neighborhood.
