IDLES Frontman Joins Artistic Lineup for Vital Fundraising Project & More recent News
IDLES’ vocalist Joe Talbot is lending his creative talents to a powerful new art initiative supporting communities impacted by global conflict. This project builds on the success of last yearS ‘Music Shaped‘ campaign, demonstrating a continued commitment to using art as a force for good.
The initiative brings together a remarkable roster of artists, all contributing original works to raise crucial funds for essential projects in conflict zones. It’s a gorgeous way to support those in need through the power of creativity, and the collective is truly honored to collaborate wiht such a distinguished group. The hope is that audiences will connect with the new art and recognise the profound importance of music and art in all our lives.
Last year’s ‘Music Shaped’ project, featuring Self Esteem, Charlotte Church, Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien, and Brian Eno, impressively raised over £32,000 for the charity. This year promises to build on that momentum and deliver even greater impact.
But that’s not all that’s happening in the world of IDLES. Here’s a rundown of their recent and upcoming engagements:
* Festival Appearances: You can catch IDLES next August at Deftones’ All Points East x Outbreak event in London. They’ll also be hitting the road as the opening act for Foo Fighters’ ‘Take Cover’ European stadium tour next summer. Furthermore, they’re slated to perform at Primavera Sound Porto.
* Activism & Collaboration: The band actively supports critically important causes. They recently participated in the ’Hope Over Fear’ t-shirt campaign for Music Declares Emergency, alongside other prominent artists.
* New Music: Joe Talbot recently lent his voice to Gorillaz’s latest single, “The God Of Lying,” showcasing his versatility and collaborative spirit.
I’ve always admired IDLES’ dedication to both their craft and using their platform for positive change.Their involvement in these diverse projects - from fundraising art initiatives to festival stages and collaborative singles – highlights their commitment to a broader artistic and social landscape. It’s inspiring to see a band so actively engaged in making a difference, and I, for one, am excited to see what they do next.
