Indonesia’s National Police (Polri) has announced a significant reshuffle of senior and mid-ranking officers, including several regional police chiefs.The changes are aimed at bolstering security and improving operational effectiveness across the archipelago.
The rotation is detailed in Telegram Number ST/99/I/KEP./2026, dated January 15, 2026. Key changes include the appointment of new heads of police for South Sumatra, West Papua, and Central Papua.

- South Sumatra Police Chief: Irjen Sandi Nugroho, replacing Irjen Andi Rian

- Central Papua Police Chief: Kombes Jermias Rontini, replacing Brigjen Alfred Papare
