Jakarta – Authorities are currently reviewing a request for restorative justice in a case involving allegations of a forged diploma attributed to former Indonesian President Joko Widodo. The request, submitted concerning accusations leveled by Eggie Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis, is still under consideration as of January 12, 2026. According to Kombes Iman Imanuddin, Director of General Criminal Examination at the Metro jaya Police, the process is ongoing and the initial petition has been formally received.
“The restorative justice process is still underway,” Kombes Imanuddin stated to reporters on monday. “yes, the request has been submitted.” He further explained that the success of this approach hinges on the willingness of all parties involved – both the accusers and the accused – to participate. the police department stands ready to facilitate discussions should both sides reach an agreement.
The investigative team is awaiting confirmation from both parties regarding their interest in pursuing restorative justice, aligning with established criminal procedure and Indonesian law. As Iman explained, the ultimate path forward will be persistent by the preferences of those directly involved.
Ade Dermawan, representing eggie Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis, confirmed that a request for restorative justice had been filed on their behalf. “We welcome this progress, viewing it as a positive step towards resolution,” Dermawan commented at the Metro Jaya Police headquarters.
