LEGISLATIVE ELECTIONS – Increase in the number of polling stations

Less than a month before the legislative elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (Ceni) is finalizing the final adjustments. Reached by telephone yesterday, the first vice-president of the body said that the number of polling stations was increased compared to the 2019 elections. This increase mainly results from the increase in the number of voters. Similarly, the expansion in the number of districts could also be a probable reason for this situation.

At the same time, the Ceni is continuing its preparations this week while awaiting the arrival of sensitive printed matter from South Africa. These documents are expected to arrive before the start of the electoral campaign. The question currently being asked concerns the likely rate of voter turnout on May 29, taking into account the increase in their numbers as well as the number of polling stations.
