Spice Girl Melanie C Marries Chris Dingwall in Britain
Melanie Chisholm, known globally as Sporty Spice, has married Australian model Chris Dingwall. The couple celebrated their union on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at a lakeside property in England’s Lake District, according to RTE. The wedding ceremony followed a previous legal marriage held in Dingwall’s native Australia.
For the English celebration, Chisholm wore a custom ivory lace silk slip dress designed by her former Spice Girls bandmate, Victoria Beckham. Beckham noted that the design process was straightforward, stating that Chisholm favored a minimalist aesthetic. Chisholm, 52, expressed her appreciation for the collaboration, noting that having Beckham and her own 17-year-old daughter, Scarlett, involved in the process was “very special.”
A Journey to the Altar
The couple’s path to marriage began after they connected on the dating app Raya. Chisholm, who was 49 at the time they met, described the connection as immediate. Dingwall, who wore a black tuxedo for the English ceremony, proposed to the singer in July 2025 while the pair was on holiday in Mallorca. Chisholm recalled that the proposal took place in their hotel suite, which had been filled with candles.

Reflecting on her decision to marry, Chisholm admitted that she had not envisioned a wedding earlier in her life, having focused primarily on her career since the Spice Girls formed in 1994. I’d gotten to the point in my life where I just didn’t think it was going to be a part of my story,
she said. However, she noted that she felt the relationship with Dingwall was “right,” describing him as a beautiful addition
to her and her daughter’s lives.
Spice Girls Reunion and Wedding Details
The wedding in the Lake District was attended by three of Chisholm’s Spice Girls bandmates: Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell-Horner. The event was described by the bride as low-key, relaxed, romantic and chic.
The partnership between Chisholm and Beckham extended beyond the English ceremony. For their earlier legal wedding in Australia, Chisholm utilized a dress from Beckham’s personal wardrobe as her something borrowed.
Beckham recounted that she had offered the dress after learning Chisholm’s own purchase did not fit properly and lacked the time for alterations before her flight. After learning of the plans for the larger UK ceremony, Beckham offered to design a custom gown for the occasion.
