Methodist students trained on the General Advertising Law –

The Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), through the National Directorate of Advertising (DNP), carried out this Friday, 3rd, an advertising literacy action, with “Meeting Cycles” aimed at students, academics, as well as companies operating in the field, under the motto: “Know the General Advertising Law”, at the Methodist University of Angola.

The National Director of Advertising, José Matuta Cuato, said that the objective of the lecture cycle is to provide communication students with tools that allow them to learn about the Advertising Law.

“The objective of this training cycle is to enhance and share knowledge with some scholars of the subject and actors who have some direct or indirect intervention in the advertising market because, we understand, on the one hand, that today, students, above all, have difficulties in understand the Advertising law”, he stressed.

He continued arguing that “there has been a lack of knowledge of the Advertising Law itself”, therefore, “we understand that the Ministry, through the National Advertising Directorate, could make some contribution to improving and empowering students whose mission is to learn, for example, the law of antenna spaces, negotiate advertising with advertising agencies and advertisers, so that they actually have tools that enable them to work and bring more profitability to their businesses”.

Tiago Caungo Mutombo, Rector of the Methodist University of Angola, who hosted the event, said it was an added value to receive this type of partnership and that he believes that his students left with better knowledge about the General Advertising Law.

“We all left satisfied, we learned a lot, now we need to learn more. The university won, the students were amazed, proof of this were the questions they were asking, all to see the interest of the students”, he highlighted.

In addition to the rector, directors from different areas of the Methodist University and students participated in the event.
