The new week in Latvia will bring rainy weather, but strong frosts may form on the top layer of grass at night, predicts the Latvian Center for Environment, Geology and Meteorology (LVĜMC).
Although the first days of May were sunny, dry and spring-like warm, at the beginning of the new week atmospheric pressure will drop, bringing rain to many places by Monday night.
On Monday and on the night of Tuesday, the amount of clouds will increase and rain is expected in most of the territory, it will be long-lasting in some places, strong in some places, and a thunderstorm is also expected on Monday.
However, after that, the precipitation will stop for a few days – it will rain only in some areas and a little.
In the second half of the week, a cyclone will approach the territory of Latvia again, bringing rain for a while. A colder air mass will gradually flow into the territory of the country with the north wind.
Therefore, in the second half of the week, during the days in most parts of the country, the air will warm up to within +6…+13 degrees, but during the night hours in some districts, the air temperature will drop to the zero mark and below, therefore strong frosts may form on the top layer of the grass, predicts LVĜMC.
