Design and connectivity
Motorola Moto G34
We started with the design with a series of similarities between them. Both use an entire plastic construction, with a finish that imitates leather, depending on the color chosen. But don’t expect to find any certification on them that guarantees protection against dust and water.
Both contain a rectangular block at the rear to house the cameras, but the G34 opts for a module with a little curvature around it, while the G54 has a protruding piece with straighter edges. You will also have the most compact and lightest body of the duo in the superior model.
Motorola Moto G54
Both provide a hole-shaped notch centered on the front, in addition to the fingerprint reader that is on the side of the device, incorporated into the power button.
Motorola did not leave out the microSD card slot on these cell phones, allowing for storage expansion. They also have fifth generation Wi-Fi and NFC, for contactless payments. The Bluetooth 5.3 of the G54 is more advanced than the 5.1 version present in the G34.
The Moto G54 leads the way with its more compact and lighter design.

Bodies
The manufacturer placed an IPS LCD screen on these smartphones, with the same size of 6.5 inches. The duo is still similar in the 120 Hz refresh rate, for above-average fluidity in the system’s animations. The contrast level and viewing angle are decent in them, although the brightness level is far from ideal.
But not everything is similar between them. The G54 has the advantage of having Full HD+ resolution, with a higher HD+ definition than the G34, not to mention the slightly better front end, thanks to its smaller edges. Just don’t have any extra protection against scratches or technology that improves the display of streaming services.
The superior Moto scores one more point.

As
Motorola has paid great attention to the audio aspect and has inserted a stereo system into these intermediaries. Both use the call speaker as a secondary channel, for greater immersion, not to mention compatibility with a full equalizer and Dolby Atmos support.
The sound power of the duo is quite satisfactory, but you will feel a higher quality in the G54. It offers the best balance between frequencies, especially in relation to bass. None of them come with headphones in the packaging, but the physical connector in the P2 standard is still present on them.

System
The G34 comes out of the box with Android 14 natively, against version 13 of the “little robot” from the factory on the G54. As Motorola only guarantees one software update for the G line, the model with a lower number will have a greater longevity than its “brother”.
Their system flows well, both due to the interface with few modifications and the 120 Hz rate. They also don’t leave behind the fast mobile network, as they support 5G technology.
Moving on to the resources, the two have some features in common, such as the Secure Folder to protect your files and the classic gestures to open the camera app and turn on the flashlight. But the G34 comes with a difference. We are talking about Ready For, which allows you to transform your cell phone into a portable PC.
The Moto G34 scores the point in this regard.

Performance
Motorola used the Snapdragon 695 mobile platform in the G34 and the Dimensity 7020 chip in the G54. Both with 4 GB of RAM, which has the best multitasking performance? In the duel between Qualcomm and MediaTek, the Moto with Snapdragon won by a very small distance. Less than three seconds separate one from the other in our test results.
The benchmarks point to a greater advantage for the G34, which recorded a 21% higher score than the G54 in AnTuTu. The Moto’s GPU with Qualcomm chip also wins in games, as it runs heavier games with higher quality than its “brother”.
In this way, the Moto G34 takes the point.

Battery
As has become increasingly standard on the market, these devices contain a battery with the same capacity of 5,000 mAh. But they don’t repeat the similarity in practice. Our tests showed an autonomy of 29 and a half hours for the G34, almost five hours more than the duration recorded by the G54.
Moving on to charging, Motorola sends its 20 W TurboPower as a plug adapter in the packaging of its two intermediaries. But the Moto with the higher number is the only one that completes the process in less than two hours, 12 minutes less than its “brother”.
Greater autonomy against shorter recharging time. We give it a draw here.

Cmera
Motorola made no changes in this regard to its smartphones and maintained the same photographic set from one to the next. It consists of a 50 MP main camera and a simple 2 MP macro.
Both are pleasing in photos taken with the primary sensor. The colors are vibrant, the sharpness is above average and the dynamic range is wide, complete with efficient HDR. The duo also features an efficient night mode to compensate for any limitations.
Their macro is not exciting and only does the basics. It suffers from low resolution and lack of automatic focus. An ultrawide lens was missing here, to capture more of the scenes.
Without major differences, we have yet another tie.

These devices have a camcorder restricted to videos in Full HD resolution. But the G54 has some relevant advantages. It is the only one that records at 60 fps, for greater fluidity, and has optical stabilization, which handles shake better. This also delivers faster focusing and better audio capture compared to the G34.
Therefore, the Moto with the higher number gets the point.

The front camera of both is also the same, with a resolution of 16 MP. However, the results are not the same. The G34 suffers more with graininess and doesn’t get the contrast right. On the other hand, the G54 offers better colors and more details during the day, in addition to not having so much drop in sharpness in portrait mode and night selfies. The footage from the front of them is nothing more than Full HD.
The Moto G54 expands the score.

Motorola officially launched these two intermediaries in Brazil. The G34 was available for a suggested price of R$1,400, slightly cheaper than the R$1,500 initially charged for the G54. In the current market, both can already be found for less than R$1,000, but the Moto with the smaller number appears in the R$800 range, cheaper than the little more than R$900 cost of its “brother”.
This means that the Moto G34 marks the end point of the clash.

Finished
The confrontation between the two intermediaries from the same line of Motorola cell phones ended quite evenly, but recorded a discreet victory for the model with the highest number.
Still, you will see a number of benefits in the Moto G34. This is what provides the most up-to-date system with the most advanced features; better multitasking and gaming performance; greater battery life; and a photographic set that resembles its “brother”. Apart from the fact that it is cheaper in Brazilian retailers.
And speaking of the other model, the Moto G54 was superior in its more compact and lighter design; on the screen with better resolution; in higher quality sound; no faster charging; and cameras that record smoother videos and take sharper selfies.
