The attack also left a nurse injured, and caused a fire in the office, causing chaos and panic.

According to preliminary investigations, the tragic incident could have been the outcome of a series of previous threats.

Allegedly, Aristizábal had performed a circumcision on Cano years ago, and since then, the attacker would have been harassing him due to his mental condition.

It is believed that Cano had tried to attack the urologist on previous occasions.

The doctor reported the threats to the Attorney General’s Office, but the patient continued to stalk him for three years.

After committing the homicide and the fire, the alleged murderer locked himself in the bathroom of the office, where it is presumed that he committed suicide.

The police and firefighters intervened to persuade him to surrender, but when they broke into the scene, they found his lifeless body, and a firearm next to him.

The commander of the Metropolitan Police of the Aburrá Valley, Brigadier General Óscar Andrés Lamprea, announced that they are collaborating closely with the investigations of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) to clarify the details and motivations behind this terrible event.
