Aaron Smith Henrikson was in a store on Rua Senhor dos Passos, in the center of Rio, looking for a t-shirt inspired by Madonna. But not just any t-shirt. The singer’s makeup artist was looking for a model that imitates the famous cone bra that she immortalized on the Blonde Ambition tour in the 1990s.
“It really appreciates that the whole country is focused on Madonna’s visit to Rio de Janeiro. There’s a buzz in the air. Fans are already shopping for looks, like this t-shirt with the cone bra. One of the most incredible things about this show is that it will happen for free throughout Brazil. I noticed that many fans are also coming from other South American countries, such as Argentina and Chile. Together, I think they will form one of the most passionate and excited audiences I’ve ever seen at a Madonna concert. When you’re shopping or walking along Copacabana beach, it’s as if the whole city is vibrating with positive energy. Maybe it’s the caipirinhas, maybe it’s the açaí, maybe it’s the girls and boys of Rio, or maybe it’s Madonna”, he said on a social network, quite excited about what he saw in the city’s popular commerce.
Without finding the iconic shirt, which was already sold out, the makeup artist settled for buying other shirts with the American’s print.
