Muse frontman Matt Bellamy has filed for divorce from model Elle Evans in Los Angeles Superior Court, seeking sole legal and physical custody of their two young children after seven years of marriage, according to court documents.
The legal filing marks the formal next step in the couple’s separation, which was first announced in mid-2025. Bellamy, 48, cited irreconcilable differences in the court papers filed on Wednesday, while Evans has publicly stated her intention to contest the custody demands as legal proceedings begin in California.
The pair share two children: a six-year-old daughter named Lovella and a two-year-old son named George Julien-Wade Bellamy, who was born in May 2024. In the divorce documents, Bellamy has asked the court to award him sole legal and physical custody of both children.
