Ntoroko‍ District, once⁣ characterized by instability and limited opportunity, is undergoing a remarkable transformation. Driven by strategic government investment and community participation,the region is experiencing significant gains in‍ socio-economic development,offering a ⁣compelling example of progress⁤ in Uganda. Economic Empowerment through PDM & Emyooga

* ⁢ PDM Impact: Shs 16.7 billion has been allocated to Ntoroko’s PDM SACCOs.A ample Shs 14.5 billion (86.47%) has already reached⁢ 14,509 ⁤households – representing​ over 71% of the district’s total households (20,180).
* emyooga’s Reach: 18 Emyooga saccos, encompassing 9,777​ members, have⁤ collectively received Shs 760 million.
* Agricultural Boost: The Kiranga Small-Scale Irrigation Scheme, covering⁣ 12 ‍acres, ‌is yielding impressive results. It currently produces 9.2 tonnes of ⁤watermelons, tomatoes, and onions annually, generating Shs 21.6 million in revenue ⁣for 24 farming households.

*⁤ Expanding educational Access: ⁢ The district boasts⁣ 38 government and 44 private primary schools, strategically distributed across its 46 parishes. While 30 parishes have government primary schools, efforts are underway to address the needs of the remaining 16.
* ⁣ Secondary Education Strengthened: Ntoroko ‍has 5 government and 9 private secondary ⁢schools. All government schools provide Universal ​Secondary Education (USE) and Universal Post-O-Level Education and training (UPOLET),currently serving 3,251 ‍students.
* ⁤ Addressing Infrastructure Gaps: The construction of four Seed Secondary⁢ Schools will reduce ​the number of sub-counties without​ government secondary schools from five to just one.
* ⁣ Future-Ready Skills: The ntoroko Presidential industrial ⁣Zonal Skilling Hub is equipping youth with in-demand skills. To date, 937 young people have‌ completed training, with an additional 240 currently enrolled.

* Expanding Access to Safe Water: Currently, 62.35% of villages (111 ​out of 178) have access to ​safe water. Ongoing projects aim to reach the remaining 38% of the population.
* Water Infrastructure Improvements: Completed projects include expanding piped water systems in ⁣Itojo,‍ Rwebisengo-Kanara, and Nyakatok, constructing rainwater harvesting facilities,‌ rehabilitating boreholes, and building public‍ sanitation facilities.
* Electrification ⁢Progress: Seven⁣ out of ten sub-counties now‌ have access to the national ⁢electricity grid. Plans are in place to ​extend power to the remaining three areas – Kanara Sub-county, Kanara Town Council, and Bweramule – achieving full district-wide electrification.
