Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The ruling militia of Gaza, Palestine, Hamas, has opened its voice regarding reports of leaked negotiation documents between its party and Israel. This was conveyed by a senior Hamas official, Suhail Al Hindi, Thursday (2/5/2024).

In his statement, Suhail said the group’s response to the proposed ceasefire agreement brokered by Egypt and Qatar was negative. However, he explained that discussions were still ongoing.

According to him, there is a great interest of Hamas and all Palestinian resistance factions to end the crazy war against the Palestinian people, which according to him has exhausted all existing resources.

“But this will not have any impact. Under no circumstances can we raise the white flag or surrender to the conditions of Israel’s enemies,” he said. AFP.

Previously, Lebanese media, Al Mayadeen, revealed that the ceasefire document was related to the exchange of Israeli hostages who are now being held by Hamas. In exchange, Israel will release Palestinian prisoners in Tel Aviv prisons.

However, the principle is to free all captured Israeli civilians and military prisoners, dead or alive. Including those detained before October 7.

“The aim of the agreement is to achieve calm in the area and work towards a ceasefire,” the document said Al Mayadeen.

In the first stage, 33 Israeli captives will be freed. They constitute all of Israel’s surviving prisoners and include Israeli military women, civilians, children, the elderly, the wounded, and patients.

In return, Israel will free 20 Palestinian children and women for every female or male Israeli prisoner freed.

Hamas will also release every surviving female Israeli military conscript who served on October 7, 2023. In return, Israel will free 40 Palestinian prisoners.

In this first stage, the prisoner exchange, the Israeli army will retreat eastward, away from densely populated areas. Soldiers will be located in the area near the dividing fence between the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel since 1948.

Israeli fighter jets will be banned from flying over the Gaza Strip for eight hours every day. However, on the day the prisoners are released, Israeli fighter jets will not fly over the Gaza Strip for 10 hours.

At this stage, Palestinians expelled from North Gaza will also return to their homes. More humanitarian aid is also expected to come in, such as medicine and fuel.

Rebuilding Gaza will also begin. A coordinating body will also begin sending necessary heavy equipment to the Palestinian Civil Defense.

Moving on to the second stage, this stage allows the ceasefire agreement to be extended for the next 42 days. Both sides are expected to agree on the actions necessary to achieve and implement sustainable peace.

In the second stage, the reconstruction of Gaza will be more detailed. Starting from this, necessary arrangements will be made for the complete reconstruction of housing units, civil facilities and civil infrastructure.

In the third stage, this agreement will also be extended for another 42 days. Where the bodies of both parties killed will be exchanged.

There is also a clause on the five-year reconstruction plan for the Gaza Strip. The construction of housing units and civil facilities and infrastructure is prioritized.

“The Palestinian side will refrain from rebuilding military installations and infrastructure during the period,” the document said.

“In addition, the Palestinian side will not import any equipment, raw materials or other components that will be used for military purposes,” he added.

“Qatar, Egypt and the United States (US) are the guarantors of the agreement.”
