Those who work near Malmö Arena and Malmö Mässan may find it difficult to get to work during Eurovision week in May. Several obstacles are already stopping traffic and several parking lots will be closed.
Can work from home
– We have been informed that the office is closing and that we will be working from home that week, says an employee at Ingka, which is Ikea’s parent company.
Her office is just a few hundred meters from the entrance to Malmö Arena.
Those who work at Inter Ikea, which has the Fabriken office in Hyllie, recommend their employees to work from home.
Restaurants extend opening hours
Those who have, or work at, restaurants on Arenatorget believe they will have more guests during the week.
– We hope so and personally I am not worried that anything will happen. I have colleagues who are, but then they don’t have to work here that week, says Liza Dénes, supervisor at Brödernas.
Emporia charges with more security guards
Employees in Emporia’s shopping center near Malmö Arena have been informed that there will be plenty of security guards and police to increase their and the visitors’ safety.
– I don’t feel afraid. There will be a lot of police here and it will be fun with Eurovision, says Long Bui, who works at a restaurant in Emporia.
