A Career Dedicated to Pain Management: From Patient Care to Innovation
For over two decades, my professional life has been centered around understanding and alleviating pain. It’s a journey that began with direct patient care and evolved to encompass large-scale clinical research and the advancement of cutting-edge neuromodulation technologies.
I initially pursued a Bachelor of Science degree, followed by a Medical Doctorate. My training continued with a residency programme at a leading hospital affiliated with a renowned medical school. This foundation led to board certification in anesthesiology, with a specialized focus on pain management.
from the Clinic to Clinical Trials
Early in my career, I dedicated myself to providing hands-on care to patients. This experience underscored the complex nature of chronic pain and the limitations of traditional treatment approaches. Recognizing the need for innovation, I transitioned into clinical research, serving as a principal investigator for several pivotal trials.
These trials allowed me to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field and explore new possibilities for pain relief. I brought with me 20 years of experience in patient care, alongside a strong background leading large-scale clinical research programs.
Leading Neuromodulation Innovation
Currently, I serve as a Medical Director, overseeing the development and implementation of neuromodulation therapies. This role allows me to focus on technologies like neurostimulation and spinal cord stimulation, offering hope to individuals struggling with chronic pain.
These therapies represent a meaningful shift in pain management, moving away from reliance on opioids and toward targeted, personalized interventions. My goal is to expand access to these innovative treatments and improve the lives of those who suffer.
A History of leadership and Education
Prior to my current role, I held a leadership position at a major cancer center, chairing the Department of Pain Medicine for over a decade. Later, I practiced in a private setting, directing clinical research and participating in numerous trials.
Throughout my career, I’ve been committed to sharing knowledge and advancing the field. I’ve authored textbooks, published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and lectured both nationally and internationally. I’ve also actively participated in numerous pain societies and editorial boards.
Areas of Expertise
My expertise encompasses a broad range of pain-related areas, including:
Chronic pain conditions
Non-opioid pain management strategies
Spinal cord stimulation
Dorsal root ganglion stimulation
neurostimulation techniques
Radiofrequency ablation
I believe in a holistic approach to pain management, considering the individual needs and circumstances of each patient. My commitment is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care and to advocate for innovative solutions that improve quality of life.
Ultimately, my passion lies in helping people regain control over their pain and live fuller, more active lives. It’s a privilege to be a part of this evolving field and to contribute to the ongoing search for better treatments and a brighter future for those who suffer.
