On January 15, 2026, at approximately 3:45 p.m., a 24-year-old German man attempted to rob the Nahkauf grocery store on marktstrasse in Pasewalk. The incident began with an argument between the suspect and an acquaintance after they had been consuming alcohol together.
Details of the Incident
During the altercation, the suspect kicked in the front door of the Nahkauf store, causing damage. He then entered the store and threatened a cashier with a knife, demanding money. According to reports, the suspect shouted, “Give me your money, I want your money!”
The acquaintance attempted to intervene and stop the robbery, pulling the suspect outside.in the process, the acquaintance sustained a minor knife wound and received treatment at Pasewalk Hospital.
Apprehension and Investigation
Police officers arrived at the scene and successfully restrained and arrested the suspect. He was taken into custody at the pasewalk Police Headquarters (PHR Pasewalk). An investigation has been launched into charges of criminal extortion in connection with aggravated robbery, threats, grievous bodily harm, and insults.
