“At the end of the week there will be a war. And I know what will happen at the end of this war”, stated N. Pashinianas in a meeting with the residents of the village of Voskepars in the Tavush region. He said he predicted that after that, “ordinary villagers” would come to Republic Square in Yerevan and tell the authorities: “We didn’t have any information, and you knew everything and didn’t say anything.”

Armenia cannot afford a war with Azerbaijan, therefore it is necessary to agree to the “correction of the border”, explained N. Pashinian. He also noted that “it is real opportunity to start border delimitation and demarcation process between the two countries”.

Azerbaijan demanded the transfer of territories, Armenia is clarifying which ones

We are talking about the section from the village of Bagani to the village of Berkaber in the Tavush region. In early March, Azerbaijan demanded that Yerevan hand over eight border villages that Baku considers occupied. These are the non-exclaves of Baganis Ajrum, Ashagi Askipara, Cheirimli and Gizilgajyli, as well as the exclaves of Jukhary Askipara, Kyarki, Sofulu and Barhudarli in the Tavush region. At the same time, Baku denies that it has occupied 31 villages that Yerevan considers its property.

After Azerbaijan presented the demands, N. Pashinyan stated that the listed villages were never in the sovereign territory of the country. According to him, villages with these names never existed either during the Soviet era or later. He proposed to “determine the territory of the Republic of Armenia first” so that Baku could “clearly articulate where and why Azerbaijan has territorial claims against Armenia.”
