The Pepco store chain is withdrawing several products from sale. PEPCO Slovakia s.r.o. informs customers about this through its website. It is a baking pan, a toy in the form of a potter’s wheel and a pencil in a tube.
The products do not meet the safety requirements due to peeling of the material or excessive content of dangerous substances. Customers who purchased said products should return them to a Pepco store. “The cost of purchasing the product will be refunded to you. You don’t need to present proof of product purchase,” adds Pepco.
Pepco is recalling the following products:
PLU 596629 Pottery circle
“Based on internal tests, it was found that the product does not meet the requirements of the EN 71-3:2019+A1:2021 standard due to the exceeded content of lead in the clay,” reported by Pepco.
Colored pencils in a tube PLU 344664 /PLU 347467 /PLU 349916 / PLU 351997/ PLU 596332/ PLU 599150 / PLU 599152/ PLU 599153
“Based on internal tests, it was found that the products do not meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 of December 18, 2006 on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) due to exceeding the phthalate content,” explains Pepco.

“Based on external tests, it was found that the non-stick coating can peel off the sheet metal part of the product,” explains Pepco.
Last week, the Slovak Public Health Office (ÚVZ) drew attention to the non-compliant product sold in the Pepco network.

“ÚVZ received an information notice from Austria via the rapid warning system for food and feed about a non-compliant product baking tray 28.2 x 15.4 x 7 cm, brand pepco HOME, EAN code 2200134884561, other designation Art. Nr. SKU 34884501 STYLE 348845 , production no. ORD00851338_01, country of origin China,” specified.
ÚVZ, in cooperation with the regional office of public health, is verifying the withdrawal of this product from the market. “Since the mentioned product can still be found on the market in the Slovak Republic, we recommend consumers not to buy these products, not to use the purchased products and, if necessary, to return them to the point of sale.” added.
