The holding of this POSMA VI activity was the decision of the POSMA VI Committee Formation Meeting at SMAN 1 Lubuk Pakam on Wednesday 17 January 2024.
“The aim is to discover and bring out the potential that exists in students so that they develop life skills that are beneficial for themselves and society,” said Fazdli, Principal of SMAN 1 Lubuk Pakam, to journalists, Wednesday (7/2/2024) .

POSMA aims to develop students’ potential to the maximum, especially academic potential, to develop students who have intellectual excellence and are able to compete in the scientific field with delegate competition participants from other schools.

“Then educate students to be open and responsive to developments in science and technology as well as scientific phenomena that arise in society, educate students to have reasoning power in accordance with the systematic rules of the scientific method, so that they are expected to be able to think critically, behave and act scientifically,” said Fazdli

The participants in the Pre-Olympic Science and Mathematics VI ( POSMA VI ) at SMAN 1 Lubuk Pakam were students in classes X, XI and XII from various high schools throughout Deli Serdang Regency.

Participants in the Pre-Olympiad Science and Mathematics activities were from high schools throughout the Regency and Private High Schools from Sub-Rayon 029 and the total number of participants was 716. “A total of 716 participants were distributed in 33 testing rooms,” he concluded

Principal of SMAN 1 Lubuk Pakam, Deli Serdang Regency, Fazdli, said that the number of student participants was 716 people, 79 people in Mathematics, 73 people in Physics, 77 people in Chemistry, 118 people in Biology, 59 people in Astronomy, 69 people in Earth, 95 people in Economics, 74 people in Geography. .

Head of the North Sumatra Education Service Branch Region 1 Medan – Deli Serdang Augus Sinaga stated to the student participants that in order to develop their potential to the maximum, especially academic potential, it is hoped that students will have intellectual excellence and be able to compete in the scientific field.

“Agus also said that students must respond well to developments in science and technology and be able to think critically but adapt to the systematic rules of the scientific method, so that they are able to compete in academics,” he said.

Furthermore, Augus conveyed to the POSMA VI participants that all competition participants were entitled to receive certificates as competition participants and receive medals, 1st to 5th place in each competition field received a Gold Medal + Charter, 6th to 10th place in each competition field received a Silver Medal + Charter, “Ranks 11 to 15 in each competition field get a Gold Medal + Certificate, likewise trophies/trophies for 1st to 3rd in each competition field get a trophy,” he said.
