President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, issued a presidential decree renewing Major General Khairat Barakat as Head of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics for a year.

The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics said in a statement today, Wednesday, that the renewal date begins on February 14.

Major General Khairat Barakat assumed the presidency of the agency in February 2018. He previously served as Advisor to the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

He held the position of Director of the Armed Forces Officers Affairs Department and Director of the Military Records Department of the Egyptian Armed Forces.

He rose through the ranks of military promotions and infantry officer positions until he attained the rank of Major General of Staff.
