Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahiancondemned the harsh crackdown on para pro-Palestinian demonstrators in widespread and widespread protests on elite campuses United States of America (US). Amir-Abdollahian even urged Washington to immediately stop support for Israel.

As reported Press TV, Friday (26/4/2024), Amir-Abdollahian’s criticism was conveyed in a statement via social media X on Thursday (25/4) local time. He said US police had carried out “oppression and harsh treatment” of professors and students protesting Israel’s war on Gaza Strip.

“The repression and harsh treatment by American police and security forces against professors and students, who are protesting the Israeli regime’s genocide and war crimes, at various universities is deeply worrying and resented by world public opinion,” Amir-Abdollahian said in his comments.

“This repression is in line with Washington’s continued unwavering support for the Israeli regime, and clearly demonstrates the American government’s double standards and contradictory behavior towards freedom of expression,” he said.

Amir-Abdollahian then touched on what he called “genocide against tens of thousands of Palestinian women and children, especially after the discovery of mass graves of sick and injured people and medical staff in the area around Nasser Hospital in the Gaza Strip”.

“The global wave of disgust towards the Israeli regime and its supporters cannot be hidden,” he said.

“The White House must immediately stop supporting the Israeli regime’s war crimes, and be held accountable,” said Amir-Abdollahian.

US police reportedly arrested hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators in various locations, as protests against Israel’s war in the Gaza Strip increased on US campuses.
