After coastal areas such as Imsouane, Aourir, Sidi Abderrahman, Tamaris and Dahomey, the governor of the province of Nouaceur has decided to free the beaches of Dar Bouazza from the influence of restaurants and huts. A formal notice has just been sent to the operators of these establishments accused of illegally occupying the public maritime domain.

Restaurants affected by this measure include Sunny Beach, Baya Beach, Seven Beach Balboa 1, Malibu Beach, Atlantic Boulevard, Taloche and Babaloo Beach. Establishments very popular with Casablanca residents and tourists.

This operation is part of a general policy of redevelopment of coastal areas in Morocco. Civil society organizations have drawn the attention of the authorities to the harmful consequences of this operation on tourism development, culture and local heritage.

Concerns about the fate of residents of the affected areas, some finding themselves homeless, have been expressed by these associations who are calling on the authorities to provide assistance to these victims.
