As far as the VVD is concerned, it is already clear that significant cuts will have to be made in the coming years. “That is a fact,” says party leader Dilan Yeşilgöz in WNL on Sunday. But the PVV, with which the Liberals are negotiating a new cabinet, wants nothing to do with that. “Nothing is a fact anymore,” PVV leader Geert Wilders responds to X.

“Yeşilgöz starts the negotiations on TV,” Wilders notes. He points out that the parties will only meet for the first time on Monday to really discuss the content. Yet Wilders himself also makes an advance on this by saying “that the PVV wants tax relief for the citizens”.

Restraint

It is not the first time that Wilders and Yeşilgöz, who have been sitting around the table since the elections in November about the formation of a right-wing cabinet, have criticized each other in talk shows and on social media. The previous informant Kim Putters noted in his final report that more restraint would probably benefit mutual trust.

Together with NSC and BBB, the two parties will continue discussions from Monday, led by the new informants Richard van Zwol and Elbert Dijkgraaf. It was already clear that government finances were a potential stumbling block. There are expensive plans on the table, but of the four parties, only the VVD had its election manifesto calculated by the CPB.
