It’s almost time for the 32nd Annual Actor Awards!
SAG-AFTRA is about to unveil its first slate of television and film winners under its new moniker, and those keeping a close eye on the acting awards races will want to pay attention. As ever, this set of winners give a strong indication of how the acting branch of the Academy will be leaning as we head toward the Oscars.
Here’s everything you need to know about the 2026 Actor Award presented by SAG-AFTRA.
When are the Actor Awards happening?
The 32nd Annual Actor Awards will take place on Sunday, March 1, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and stream live on Netflix. They’ll be held in Los Angeles at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall.
Who was nominated?

Who announced the nominations?
Connor Storrie, one of the breakout stars of Heated Rivalry, read off the acting shortlists alongside Abbott Elementary‘s Janelle James, a recent Critics Choice winner. Stunt nominations were announced by Jason George from Grey’s Anatomy and Elizabeth McLaughlin from Grand Hotel. SAG-AFTRA president and former Fellowship member Sean Astin made opening remarks.
Is there a theme for the evening?
Funny you should ask. The Actor Awards have partnered with Elle for this year’s ceremony, and the magazine has set a theme for the night’s events: Reimagining Hollywood Glamour From the ‘20s and ‘30s. “The concept pays tribute to an era defined by bold expression, sensuality and cultural collision,” the awards announced in a release.
Um… What are the Actor Awards?
If you’re asking yourself, “How have there been 31 previous Actor Awards, if this is the first I’m hearing about them?” That’s because the Actor Awards is the new name for the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The new official name of the honors is “The Actor Awards Presented by SAG-AFTRA.”
