Along with the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung also introduced its own artificial intelligence “Galaxy AI”. Since then, the Galaxy S23 series, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 as well as the Tab S9 series have also received the software update to One UI 6.1 including all AI features. As of this week, the update is also being rolled out to older models.
2022 models will receive Galaxy AI
According to some reports, Samsung is currently rolling out the One UI 6.1 update for models Galaxy S22 seriesas well as for that Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4. Fortunately, the software update also includes various functions of the Galaxy S24 series, such as AI-generated wallpapers, the interpreter or live translation during phone calls. However, so far the update is only available for download to devices in Korea.

Contrary to all expectations, Samsung seems to Galaxy AI can also be activated for older models. Loud Sammobile currently also receives this Galaxy Z Fold 3 in Korea the latest AI functions. What could it be?
Samsung has not yet officially commented on why older models do not receive additional Galaxy AI features. However, there is one possibility why only the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will get the same AI features as the 2022 models: the RAM size. The Z Fold 3 is equipped with 12 gigabytes of RAM, while the remaining 2021 models only have 8 GB of RAM in the basic variants.
