Santiago, Chile – January 25, 2026 - the Municipality of Santiago officially launched the summer pool season at Parque O’Higgins in late December 2025, offering a refreshing escape from the recent heatwave with temperatures exceeding 35°C. The pools are free for Santiago residents, providing a valuable recreational chance for families and individuals.
Access and Registration
Access to the Parque O’Higgins pools is exclusively for residents of Santiago. Interested individuals must register through their local junta de vecinos (neighborhood council) to secure a spot on the approved list. This ensures fair access and manages capacity during peak times.
Operating Hours
The pool facilities operate under a structured schedule to accommodate various activities:
- Morning: Dedicated to free swimming lessons for children, youth, and adults.
- 1:30 PM – 6:30 PM: Open for general recreational use by residents.
- Evening: Resumed classes.
