SANTO DOMINGO.– The Technical Directorate and part of the Organizing Committee of the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 will receive this Friday a group of 14 international technical directors.
The objective of the visit is to inspect the competition areas corresponding to the sports that these personalities represent.
The information was provided by Tony Mesa, responsible for the technical area of the Games.
The technicians arrived in the country this Thursday afternoon and will complete a busy schedule that will last until Saturday morning.
The day will begin with a meeting with the Technical Directorate of the Games, to be held in the assembly hall of the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium, in which the progress achieved by that department so far will be detailed.
Subsequently, each technician will visit the pavilions and stages assigned to the disciplines they represent.
The group is made up of four technicians from the swimming area: Frist Schreuders (open water), Andrea Pindad (swimming), Sonia Cárdenas (artistic swimming) and Aaron Hidalgo (water polo).
Also part of the delegation are Miguel Rivera (handball), Adelphe Pierre (soccer), Patrick Heron (netball), Amos Anglade (beach volleyball), Ariel Sainz (indoor volleyball), Orlando Cala (badminton), Bárbaro Oliva (table tennis), Ángel García (rowing), Edgar Marín (basketball) and Allan McDonald (speed canoeing).
The technicians will inspect the facilities of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, where the swimming and basketball competitions will be held.
Another group will visit Mirador del Este Park, the planned venue for handball, netball and table tennis. The open water one will be moved to Sounsuci. Meanwhile, the rest will move outside of Santo Domingo to evaluate the rowing and canoeing scenarios, which will take place in Bonao; beach volleyball, in Juan Dolio; and football, which will be based in the city of Santiago.
