This Tuesday, April 30, a young 21-year-old from Lille took the Lille-Paris TGV for work. In possession of her transport ticket, the young person had however forgotten her identity card. Despite the copy she presents on her phone, the SNCF wants her to pay a fine of around one hundred euros.

A simple forgetting of his identity card cost him dearly. This young 21-year-old from Lille took a Lille-Paris train last Tuesday April 30, as she does several times a week. Holder of a TGV/Max subscription, she had however forgotten her identity card at home, relates The voice of the North.

Checked by an SNCF agent during her trip, she shows him a copy of her identity card which she keeps on her phone. The controller not being convinced by this proof, the young woman showed him her vital card and her professional card. She goes so far as to call her parents so that they can confirm her identity to the agent.

Welcomed by the railway police at Gare du Nord in Paris

Despite all her efforts, the young woman was ordered to pay a fine of around one hundred euros, which she refused. When the train arrives in Paris, she is then greeted by railway security. They hand him a report to sign, without giving him permission to read it. She refused again, the report indicating that she was not in possession of a transport ticket, which was indeed the case, according to her.

Contacted by our colleagues, the SNCF refutes any accusation of injustice: “During this episode, our agents acted calmly and professionally regarding a customer who clearly refused to comply. An agent assured her that she would be reimbursed when she could provide proof of physical identification.”
