Solid State Logic Releases SSL 360 V2.1 Update for Controllers

Logic Pro and Pro Tools Enhancements

For Logic Pro users, the update provides synchronised track selection and track colour support for improved session navigation. UC1 users can now control track volume and pan parameters directly from within the U Series workflow. UF8 and UF1 users working in the SSL Plug-in Mixer layer also benefit from these enhancements, alongside direct solo and mute control, and up to eight sends per track on the UF8.

Pro Tools improvements allow the UF8 and UF1 to display longer eight-character track names and reflect track colours on their displays. Automation workflows have been streamlined so users can place tracks into automation modes without first engaging Auto Selection Mode, while the UC1 now communicates directly with Pro Tools solo and mute functions.

Plug-in Integration and Additional Features

A headline addition is the native integration for the Harrison 32Classic Channel Strip V2. The updated plug-in can be inserted directly into a Digital Audio Workstation session and controlled from the UC1 without requiring SSL 360° Link, and it appears natively in the SSL 360° Plug-in Mixer.

Additional updates include customisable destinations for the dedicated SSL 360° button on UF8 and UF1 controllers, new overview scaling options for the Plug-in Mixer, and exportable Loudness Data Logs for Meter Pro. Andy Jackson, Senior Product Manager for Studio, stated, V2.1 brings some of the most significant quality-of-life updates to U Series Controllers and SSL 360° to date, particularly for Logic Pro and Pro Tools users. This, coupled with the exciting new Harrison 32Classic plug-in integration, shows our ongoing commitment to enhancing the U Series platform.
