Telangana & BookMyShow partner to Amplify ⁣India’s Concert Economy

Telangana ⁢Tourism ‍has inked a Memorandum of⁤ Understanding ‍(MoU) with BookMyShow,⁤ signaling a major push to elevate live entertainment ‌and bolster the concert economy ‍within ​the state. This collaboration aims to transform cities like Hyderabad into premier destinations for ‌both national and international⁣ performances.

through BookMyShow live, the experiential entertainment division of BookMyShow, the partnership will focus ‌on creating⁣ opportunities ‌and fostering‌ growth across related ⁣industries like hospitality, retail, and travel. ‍The official signing took​ place‌ at the Telangana Tourism Conclave 2025, with‍ Ashish Hemrajani, Founder and CEO of BookMyShow, and‍ Jayesh⁣ Ranjan, Special Chief⁤ Secretary, Telangana Tourism,‌ at the helm. Chief minister Revanth Reddy Garu was also present,underscoring the government’s commitment.

Strengthening the Concert Infrastructure

Hemrajani emphasized the core objectives⁤ of the MoU. It aims to strengthen the infrastructure surrounding concerts, enable more performances‌ by renowned ⁤artists,⁢ drive skill development initiatives, and uplift the local ⁤ecosystem.

He expressed optimism about collaborating with⁤ the ‍Telangana government to⁣ shape the future​ of ⁢the concert economy. by working with forward-thinking⁤ states like Telangana, they can deliver world-class experiences for fans while ⁤creating a sustainable impact on​ local economies.

Expanding Beyond Metro ⁣Cities

This partnership reflects BookMyShow’s broader strategy to supercharge India’s concert scene, extending its reach beyond major ​metropolitan areas. Last year, a ⁣similar⁣ MoU with the Assam government paved the way for international acts like post Malone to ⁤perform in the ⁢northeast.

Moreover, BookMyShow brought coldplay’s ‘Music Of The Spheres’ concert to Ahmedabad,⁣ which became India’s largest‌ ticketed stadium concert. An ‍associated report revealed a meaningful economic boost of⁤ INR 392 crore ⁢to Ahmedabad’s economy.
