Singapore announced on Tuesday that it has paid a contribution to have Taylor Swift perform in the Southeast Asian city-state. Thailand’s prime minister accused the country last week of signing a multimillion-dollar exclusivity deal with the American pop icon.

Swift will play Singapore’s sold-out National Stadium six times in March, the only stop on her Eras tour in Southeast Asia. More than 300,000 fans were able to get a coveted ticket. The wealthy city-state’s culture ministry and tourism department said the Singapore government was working directly with tour organizers for the event.

Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin suspects Singapore of paying $2 to $3 million per show, according to the British channel Sky News. The country itself refuses to mention the amount of the contribution. Singapore also does not confirm whether an exclusivity agreement has been reached, due to ‘the confidentiality of business contracts’.

Singapore emphasized on Tuesday that the world star’s concerts bring significant benefits to the country’s economy. Australia also previously indicated that it was counting on the Taylor Swift mania to boost the economy. The appeal of the concert series may convince consumers to open their wallets.

After her visit to Singapore, Swift will continue her Eras Tour in Europe from May. The tour’s proceeds are estimated at $2 billion.
